Prime Minister Üstel upholds foreign policy after OTS Summit

Nicosia, May 18, 2026Prime Minister Ünal
Üstel, said Tufan Erhürman representing TRNC at Organization of Turkic States
Summit as a president was the result of determined and visionary policy implemented
by the government 4 years ago and supported by Turkey.

In a written statement Üstel said, TRNC was
represented at the summit despite all endeavors of prevention and that TRNC’s
presence at the summit was also a testament of cordial approach of Turkic States
towards TRNC

Prime Minister Üstel expressed his belief that Turkish
Cypriots would reach their goals with the support of brother states.

He underlined that TRNC was an inseparable part of Turkic
world and that growth of political, economic, cultural and social ties with
Turkic states would contribute peace, stability and wealth in the region.  

He stressed that TRNC with its strategic position, structured
state, and economic potential was not a state that can be ignored or excluded.

He explained that governments policy implemented with
the support of Turkey, prioritized protection of rights of Turkish Cypriots in the
eastern mediterranean, cooperation and lasting stability in the region.

Ünal Üstel also added that dream of Israel-Greece-
South Cyprus axis, to exclude Turkey Cyprus would never realize.

He reiterated that the only way for lasting, just and
realistic solution to Cyprus problem was through recognition of Turkish Cypriot’s
sovereign equality and equal international status.
