Endonezya Meteoroloji İklim ve Jeofizik Kurumu, merkez üssü eyaletin başkenti Ambon’un 40 kilometre kuzeydoğusundaki depremin yerin 10 kilometre altında kaydedildiğini duyurdu.

Depremde ilk belirlemelere göre can kaybı yaşanmazken tsunami uyarısı da yapılmadı.

Saumlaki bölgesinde de 22 Eylül’de 6,4 büyüklüğünde deprem olmuştu.

Maluku eyaletindeki Ternate bölgesinde, 14 Temmuz’da meydana gelen 7,3 büyüklüğündeki depremde 6 kişi hayatını kaybetmişti.
