Milli Savunma Bakanığından yapılan açıklamaya göre, Pençe Harekâtı ile koordineli olarak Irak’ın kuzeyi Kandil bölgesine hava harekâtı düzenlendi. 

Hava harekatında PKK bölücü terör örgütü tarafından silah mevzii, barınak, sığınak ve mühimmat deposu olarak kullanılan hedefler vuruldu.
