Gece saatlerinde Şanlıurfa – Mardin karayolunun Viranşehir ilçesi Karakuzu Jandarma Karakolu yakınlarında seyir halinde olan tır, sürücüsünün yolun tek şeride düştüğünü fark etmemesi sonucu yoldan çıkarak devrildi.
Sürücüsünün atlayarak son anda kurtulduğu tır yanarak alev topuna döndü. Zaman zaman patlamaların da yaşandığı yangın nedeniyle diğer sürücüler büyük korku yaşadı.
Yangın nedeniyle yol uzun süre trafiğe kapanırken olay yerine gelen itfaiye ekipleri yangına müdahale ederek söndürmeye çalıştı.
Aracın sürdürülmesinin ardından yol yeniden trafiğe açılırken olayla ilgili soruşturma başlatıldı.
