Kaybolduğu alandan yaklaşık 10 kilometre uzaklıkta bir yaylada bulunan Arife Şahin, sağlık kontrolünden geçirilmek amacıyla Suşehri Devlet Hastanesine getirildi.
Yaşlı kadını yakınları, sevenleri ve Suşehri Kaymakam vekili Adnan Karaosmanoğlu da yalnız bırakmadı. Hastanede tedavisi yapılan yaşlı kadının sağlık durumunun iyi olduğu öğrenildi.
Burada konuşan 76 yaşındaki Arife Şahin, hiç korkmadığını ve Rabbine sığındığını söyleyerek, “Mantar toplamaya gitmedim. Bir dolanayım dedim. Yanlış ve taşlı yere gitmişim. Taşlı yerden çıka çıka üstüm başım yırtıldı. Üzerimden paraşüt gibi bir şey geçti. Yukarıda yattığım yerde havada bir ışık yandı. “Cankurtaran yok mu?” diyerek bağırdım. “Gelin beni kurtarın” diye bağırdım. Baktım hiç ses yok. Allah´a sığındım orada yattım. Hiç korkmadım” dedi.
