Düzce merkeze bağlı Hacıaliler köyünde oturan bir vatandaşın kümesine giren atmaca, 2 tane tavuk yedi. Yediği 2 tavuğun ardından atmaca uçamadı.
Bunun üzerine atmacayı kümesten çıkarmak için köylüler seferber oldu. Ancak atmaca kümeste kendisini çıkarmaya çalışanların parmaklarını ısırdı.
Bunun üzerine kümes sahibi, Düzce belediyesi İtfaiye Müdürlüğünü arayarak yardım istedi. İhbarı alan itfaiye ekipleri atmacanın bulunduğu kümese girerek, atmacayı kümesten çıkardı.
Ardından Düzce Belediyesi İtfaiye Müdürlüğü binasına getirilen atmaca itfaiye ekiplerinin maskotu oldu.
Atmacanın içinde bulunduğu kafesi eline alan bazı itfaiyeciler, “Sen köy tavuğu mu yedin” diyerek atmacayla konuşmaya çalıştı. Bazı itfaiyeciler ise yakaladıkları atmacanın fotoğrafını çekebilmek için uzun süre uğraştı.
